The Trojan War. You’ve heard of Achilles and Odysseus, but have you heard of Philoctetes? Probably not, because although Philoctetes signed up to go and fight, he never made it: his shipmates abandoned him on an island on the way. And why? Because he was The Man With The Disturbingly Smelly Foot.

Fast-forward ten years and Odysseus needs something Philoctetes has… will Philoctetes forgive and forget, and help the Greek armies win the Trojan war? Or will his need for vengeance overcome him?

Based on Philoctetes by Sophocles and suitable for ages 7 to 10.

The Unicorn’s Greeks season is supported by the Foyle Foundation and the Molecule Theatre and was originally developed at the National Theatre Studio.
