Lowell goes abroad on business. He imagines himself as a high-powered, internationally minded man of the world. The kind of man you find in those classic American movies. It soon becomes apparent that he is not in one of those films. He is in a different culture, where there are no subtitles and no obvious hero.

The Internationalist is a play of wit, romance, misunderstandings and the mysteries of communication.
