English National Opera presents the highly-anticipated world premiere of John Adams’ latest work The Gospel According To The Other Mary.

Exploring the Passion set in an ‘eternal present’, director Peter Sellars scoured the Bible and work of many 20th century writers to create a version of the Resurrection from the viewpoint of Mary Magdelene and Martha.

His creation, combined with Adams’ music, blends the biblical tale with modern events including the Arab Spring.

The Gospel According To The Other Mary is sung in English.
