Middleton and Rowley’s tale of sex, murder, power and intrigue, The Changeling, plays out in the beautiful, candle-lit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

Beatrice-Joanna loves Alsemero. Unfortunately for her, she’s promised to another. Her only way out; kill the fiancé. She cannot do this herself, of course, so employs the hideous servant De Flores to do her dirty work. Unfortunately for her, again, when he claims his reward it is not gold he wants, but Beatrice-Joanna’s chastity.

Dramatic irony, wild comedy, ghost, dumb shows and depravity combine in this Jacobean classic.

Hattie Morahan stars as Beatrice-Joanna following her Evening Standard and Critics’ Circle Award-winning performance in the Young Vic’s hugely successful production of The Doll’s House. Her many other stage credits include starring roles in Iphigenia, Time And The Conways and The Seagull at the National Theatre, The Real Thing at the Old Vic and The Family Reunion at the Donmar Warehouse. On screen she has appeared in Lark Rise To Candleford, Outnumbered and Sense And Sensibility.
