New Take That musical The Band plays a limited six-week season in the West End, starring Five To Five, the winners of BBC’s Let It Shine.
With a beautifully uplifting story written by the Olivier Award-winning writer Tim Firth, The Band is for anyone who grew up with a boy band.
It’s 1992 and for five 16 year-old girls, ‘the band’ is everything. 25 years later, the group of girls, who were once inseparable, reunite in Prague to see their heartthrobs one last time, and try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting the boy band whose music became the soundtrack to their lives.
The Band features the music of Take That, one of Britain’s most successful boy bands of all time, whose songs include Never Forget, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day, The Flood, Flight My Fire, Shine and Rule The World. The show is produced by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers, along with original Take That members, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams, and is directed by long-time Take That collaborator, Kim Gavin.
Five To Five is the hugely popular boy band comprising singers AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Solomon, whose lives were transformed when they won their roles in The Band through the BBC’s Let It Shine competition, on which Gary Barlow was a judge.
The production opened in September 2017 at Manchester Opera House, and arrives in London in the middle of a critically acclaimed UK tour, which has seen the show sweep audiences off their feet up and down the country. Uplifting, joyful, and with some of the greatest hits in British boy band history, The Band is a musical you’ll certainly never forget.
When the tour originally went on sale, it broke advance box office records – so don’t delay in booking your tickets to London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket!
