Set against a Britain of spending cuts, high unemployment and economic instability, James Graham’s The Angry Brigade tells the story of a group of four British Anarchists who terrorised the country in the 1970s and the police manhunt that tracked them down.

Following in the footsteps of 2013’s Jumpers For Goalposts, this Paines Plough production opened at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and comes to the Bush Theatre as part of a UK tour.

The Angry Brigade is directed by Paines Plough’s Artistic Director James Grieve as part of the company’s 40th anniversary.

Graham’s other plays include Olivier Award nominated political comedy This House and Privacy, which was staged at the Donmar Warehouse in 2014.

The Royale plays in a season of four productions dealing with struggles for justice.
