Following its premiere in New York a decade ago, Stephen Belber’s Tape comes to the West End starring EastEnders’ Marc Elliott.

An exploration of memory, truth and perception, Tape tells the story of aspiring filmmaker Jon who meets up with his best friend from high school Vince (Elliott), a volatile drug-dealing dropout.

As conversation turns to Vince’s first love Amy, who they have both previously dated, Vince finally gets Jon to confess a disturbing secret, before admitting he has taped the entire conversation and that Amy will arrive any minute.

Best known for playing Syed in the hit BBC soap, Elliott has appeared on stage in The History Boys at the National Theatre and The Maids at the Lyric Hammersmith.

He is joined in the cast by fellow soap stars Darren Bransford and Kate Loustau, who both make their West End stage debuts in the production.

Last seen on the London stage in 2003 at the Soho theatre, this West End revival of Tape is directed by Thomas King.
