Sylvia, shot by one of Eros’s arrows, falls in love with the shephed Aminta. However, she is aducted by Orion, the hunter, and can only be reunited with Aminta following another Eros intervention.

Ashton’s 1952 ballet was restored by Christopher Newton last season and combines both original designs by Christopher and Robin Ironside, and hew designs from Peter Farmer.
