Sweet William takes an irreverent look at Elizabethan England. Shakespeare, seen as a bit of a provincial hick by his friends Fat Jack, Peter the Painter, Mac the Wrestler and Nicholas the Thief, joins them all for a drink in the pub, only to discover they have several bones to pick with him. When Shakespeare arrives with two ‘posh’ friends in tow, he is relentlessly ribbed by his mates. But in true Shakespearean style, there is a revelation and a resolution at the end that is guaranteed to leave you on a high.
