Sizwe Banzi cannot provide for his family as his passbook contains the wrong information and prevents him from working. A corpse laying at the side of the road could be a way out, if he takes the deceased’s papers.

Sizwe Banzi Is Dead was created by playwright Athol Fugard and actors John Kani and Winston Ntshona in1972, when collaborations between black and white actors were the exception rather than the rule.
