Cultural Industry’s creepy tales, based on Heinrich Hoffman’s nineteenth century stories The Struwwelpeter (which he penned for his children as a welcome alternative to the rather banal stories available at the time) returns to London for its last hurrah. Billed as a ‘junk opera’, the show boasts a host of bizarre and extravagantly coiffured creatures including a psychotic hare and the ominous sounding Scissor Man, mixes the weird and wonderful with illusion and music courtesy of The Tiger Lillies. Shockhead Peter was voted Best Entertainment at this year’s Olivier Awards winning its creators a coveted bronze statuette for their efforts.
