In his new solo show, acrobat, clown, poet and magician James Thiérrée is Raoul, a man without beginning or end, who tumbles through a series of utopian fantasies in which acrobatics, mysterious transformations, music and dance collide.

As one of Europe’s most extraordinarily versatile artists, Thiérrée uses his impish talent to transform everyday objects into magical dream-like spectacles that captivate, charm and inspire.

Raoul finds Thiérrée mischievously teasing the audience whilst demonstrating his formidable skills through delightful visual comedy.

Raoul performer Thiérrée was born into the magical world of the circus and learnt many skills by following his parents, Jean-Baptiste Thiérrée and Victoria Chaplin on tour.

In 1998, he directed his first show The Junebug Symphony, (winner of four Moliere Awards), performed at Queen Elizabeth Hall (2001) and Lyric Hammersmith (2002). Au Revoir Parapluie played to critical acclaim world wide including a run at Sadler’s Wells (2007).

Raoul is recommended for theatregoers aged eight and older.
