It’s big. Huge. Pretty Woman: The Musical is coming to the West End.
The stage adaption of the iconic film with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere will run from 13 February at the Piccadilly Theatre for 46 weeks.
The musical centres around Vivian Ward when she encounters big-shot businessman Edward Lewis, who has come over to LA for a week of schmoozing and business deals.
One of the highest-grossing rom-com stories of all time, this musical adaption brings together the story you know and love with a soundtrack that will jump you straight back to the 1980s.
Based on a book by Garry Marshall and J. F. Lawton – Pretty Woman’s original director and screenwriter – the musical stage show is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots).
With original music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winner Bryan Adams and his long-time songwriting partner, Jim Vallance, (Summer of ’69, Heaven) the soundtrack is as electric as you’d expect.
The musical has already proved a hit success in America – it premiered at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in March 2018 before jumping over to Broadway until August this year. During the Broadway run, Pretty Woman: The Musical broke the box office record four times and won three Audience Choice Awards.
Aimie Atkinson (Six, In The Heights) will play Vivian Ward and Danny Mac (White Christmas, Sunset Boulevard) will play Edward Lewis in the smash hit Pretty Woman: The Musical.
