Christmas couldn’t go quickly enough for the employees at Festive Pines, in this delightfully riotous and festive comedy by award-winning playwright Jacqui Honess-Martin.

Although ‘tis the oft-cited season to be jolly, one workplace is somewhat devoid of festive spirit. First class honours degree and MA-attaining Gabby counts Norwegian Spruce for the third year running, while Betty gains what is claimed is “work experience” but wishes she were doing anything else.

Joe hauls trees suffering from a broken hand – and, moreover, heart – while Taj pines for both Gabby and Betty, and can’t decide whom he loves.

And the Christmas songs are playing on loop…

Exploring the rose-tinted expectations of recent graduates and the value of learning on the job, this is a hilarious examination of the ability to see the wood for the trees, directed by the esteemed Lisa Spirling.
