Elena Roger stars in this biographical play, transferred from its run at the Donmar Warehouse earlier this year. Piaf captures the glamour and the squalor of the life of extraordinary French singer Edith Piaf, who died tragically young after years of drug and alcohol abuse.
Playwright Pam Gems has reworked her 1978 piece which follows Piaf from a life on the streets of Paris to worldwide fame, exploring the rise and fall of this fragile, enigmatic performer. The play includes many of Piaf’s famous songs, including Je Ne Regrette Rien.
Argentine actress Roger made her West End debut in the recent revival of Evita, playing the title role, before staying on in London to join the cast of Boeing Boeing.
