During the Aesthetic craze of the 1880s, arch-poseur Reginald Bunthorne attracts hordes of female admirers with his pretentious poetry and languid demeanour, but he lusts after Patience, the village milkmaid, who remains immune to his charms. Can he tempt her to take a walk on the Wilde side, and how far will his devotees’ macho ex-fiancés go to win them back?
