Frantic Assembly revives its UK Theatre Award-winning production of Shakespeare’s brutal and gripping tragedy Othello, bringing it to the Lyric Hammersmith as part of a UK tour.

Taking the Bard’s tale about Othello’s passionate affair with Desdemona away from its traditional Venice setting, the innovative theatre company’s production transports the action to a north England pub, a world of broken glass and beatings in the car park, where tension grows around the pool table and it’s all about to kick off.

Directed by Scott Graham, who recently enjoyed success with his production of The Believers at the Tricycle Theatre, the production originally opened at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in September 2008.

Please note, the show contains loud music and scenes of a violent nature, and is only suitable for individuals aged 14 and older.
