OperaShots returns to ROH2 and the Linbury Studio Theatre for more innovative views from leading contemporary talent on on opera in the 21st century.

This year sees minimalist composer Graham Fitkin and The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon exploring opera from unexpected angles. As in the previous two seasons, the composers are not those immediately associated with opera, giving the chance for new ideas, different perspectives and provocative themes.

Only in its third year, OperaShots has already gained a name for unusual and imaginative points of departure – quantum physics, football and a doctor who is a dog have all be – and so far composers and librettists including Nitin Sawhney, Stewart Copeland, Jocelyn Pook and Terry Jones have taken shots at this inviting art form.
