Opera North presents Skin Deep, a new operetta by multi award-winning writer and broadcaster Armando Iannucci.

Composer David Sawer (From Morning To Midnight) collaborates with Armando Iannucci (I’m Alan Partridge, The Thick Of It) and theatre director Richard Jones to present new satirical operetta Skin Deep, about society’s obsession with staying young and beautiful.

Dr Needlemeier, the king of cosmetic surgery, is a busy man with a dark secret; he has concocting an elixir of youth. Will he ever be able to face the ugly truth that beauty is more than skin deep?

Skin Deep is part of the Opera North season at Sadler’s Wells which also includes Of Thee I Sing and Let ‘Em Eat Cake.
