Downton Abbey’s Julian Ovenden leads the cast of this first major revival of Kevin Elyot’s award-winning comedy My Night With Reg.

Elyot’s instant classic is set in the London flat of the lonely Guy, where old friends and new come together to party the night away. This is 1985. They may not know it, but the lives of Guy and his friends are about to alter forever.

First staged at the Royal Court in 1994, My Night With Reg became an instant classic, capturing the fragility of friendship, happiness and life itself.

For this 20th anniversary production the role of Guy is played by Jonathan Broadbent, who makes his Donmar debut in the production. His previous credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Three Sisters both a Lyric Hammersmith.

Ovenden, who previously appeared in the Donmar Warehouse productions of Grand Hotel and Merrily We Roll Along, plays John.

Royal Shakespeare Company regular Geoffrey Streatfield also stars.
