An original way to choose a husband leads to Bassanio borrowing money from Antonio, who borrows money from the moneylender Shylock. If the loan is not repaid, the lender is owed a pound of flesh, which he fully intends to take.

One of Shakespeare’s most famous plays explores ideas of tolerance, religion, society, justice and mercy.

This production is performed using Renaissance staging, costume and music.
