The Magic Flute

Mozart’s much loved opera – in which Prince Tamino goes on a quest to rescue Pamina, daughter of the Queen of the Night, from the Priest of the Sun – has been totally reimagined by this South African company of 35 singers and musicians. The score is played on marimbas, percussion and drums, and the lyrics encompass the range of languages of South Africa, including English, to create a unique, uplifting and heart-warming production.

This Young Vic production transfers to the Duke of York’s for a limited West End season.
