First Performance 21/09/2007
Closing 01/12/2007
Running Time 3hrs

Rupert Goold and Patrick Stewart team up again after The Tempest earlier this year. This time Stewart is Macbeth, in Shakespeare’s dark and chilling tale of murderous ambition. Goold has created a stark, austere production that places Macbeth in a timeless and nameless country with a law of its own. Disturbing and unsettling, the production centres on the building tensions, paranoia and fear that lead to violence and murder.

This is a transfer from Chichester Festival Theatre.
