Dance and theatre combine in the world premiere of Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin’s take on Macbeth starring John Heffernan and Anna Maxwell Martin as the title character and his ruthless wife.

Betrayal, jealousy and suspicion reign in Scotland as Shakespeare’s tragedy of the desperate desire for power is redrawn in an ambitious new staging by the duo, whose creative partnership began with Medea at the National Theatre.

Featuring five dancers, six actors and designs by Lizzie Clachan, the show sees both reason and the text falter and fragment as they become overwhelmed by stark and brutal choreography.
