Bringing to a close the explosive multi-award winning trilogy of recent Ibsens at the Almeida Theatre, Richard Eyre’s Little Eyolf is a forensic examination of the collapse of a marriage under strain.

Following on from successes with Ghosts (Almeida, West End and BAM, New York) and Hedda Gabler (Almeida, West End), Eyre concludes with the tale of Alfred Allmers, who abandons his authoring to focus on raising his son, Eyolf.

But when a shockingly cruel twist of fate strikes, Alfred and his wife Rita are pushed to their limits, with grief engulfing their lives and unspoken truths soon coming to the fore.
