A double bill of comic one-act operas from Ravel and Puccini, vibrantly directed by Richard Jones.

Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole features ticking and cuckoos within the music to tell the tale of a clockmaker’s adulteress wife.

Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi deals not with sex, but with death, and the grasping hands of inheritors. Bryn Terfel leads the cast as the manipulative Schicchi.

Performed in French and Italian with English surtitles.
