Two ballets by Frederick Ashton, Les Patineurs and Tales Of Beatrix Potter, bring fun and charm for the whole family over the holiday season. They are perfectly paired to display, in the most appealing of ways, Ashton’s characteristic sense of fun alongside the elegance, skill and virtuosity of The Royal Ballet.

This sparkling treat begins with Les Patineurs. Astonishingly popular from its first appearance, it interprets the effortless actions of skaters as they glide, turn and even fall over! The spectacular spinning Blue Skater provides just one of its memorable moments.

The delightful stories created by Potter provide all the familiar characters for the second ballet of the programme. Tales Of Beatrix Potter began as a film and was then lovingly translated to the stage complete with wonderfully authentic costumes and masks. Through the design and Ashton’s interpretations, the dancers bring to life such lovable figures as Jemima Puddle-duck, the dapper frog Mr Jeremy Fisher, bustling hedgehog Mrs Tiggy-winkle and the irrepressible Peter Rabbit.
