Based on an original story created by the company, the Soho Theatre sees a lonely girl’s world turned upside-down as a handmade Kite comes to life, heralding the beginning of a wild adventure.

Cooped up in her grandma’s airless flat with windows closed tight, she dreams of her former exploits in the sea and near the sand. But when her kite springs to life, she is gifted an opportunity to find what it seemed was lost forever.

A play without words, Kite soars through originally composed music, dance, puppetry and, of course, kites.

A poignant love-song to the wind, freedom and the joy of play, Kite is inspired by the world of indoor-kite flying and classic tales such as The Snowman and The Red Balloon.
