April De Angelis’s Jumpy transfers to the West End following its success at the Royal Court last year.
Nominated for the MasterCard Best New Play Award at this year’s Olivier Awards, Jumpy is a frank and funny family drama that questions parental anxieties and life after 50.
The critically acclaimed drama stars Tamsin Greig as 50-year-old wife and mother Hilary. Hilary once protested at Greenham but now her protests tend to focus on persuading her teenage daughter to go out fully clothed.
Greig, whose on-screen credits include Episodes and Shaun Of The Dead, has appeared on stage in The Little Dog Laughed, the RSC’s Much Ado About Nothing and The God Of Carnage as well as the original production of Jumpy at the Royal Court.
Jumpy, which is directed by 2011 Olivier nominee Nina Raine, is one of two plays to transfer to the Duke Of York’s theatre from the Royal Court. Laura Wade’s critically acclaimed drama Posh runs from 11 May to 4 August at the venue.
Jumpy is suitable for individuals over the age of 14.
