Wolfgang Rihm’s starkly Expressionistic sonic ‘psychogram’ charts the mental disintegration of real-life Sturm Und Drang poet, Jakob Lenz.

Staged by English National Opera and Hampstead Theatre to celebrate Rihm’s 60th birthday, this is the first ever English translation of Jakob Lenz, which is Rihm’s most widely performed opera.

Jakob Lenz is directed by the winner of the European Opera-Directing Prize, Sam Brown, and stars Andrew Shore.
