Take an adrenaline-fuelled ride into Dublin’s underworld in Mark O’Rowe’s Howie The Rookie.

A tale of two halves, narrated first by the Howie, then picked up by the Rookie, unfolds within a landscape of feverish drinking, casual sex and visceral violence. Meet unforgettable characters along the way from Ladyboy, the psychotic thug hell-bent on avenging the deaths of his fighting fish, to monstrous Avalanche, clad in ski pants, looking for love from her bar stool.

O’Rowe’s two-hander is transformed into a one-man show brimming with ferocious lyricism and coruscating wit.

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, who has already won a Best Actor Irish Times Theatre Award for the role, stars.

Howie The Rookie is suitable for audiences aged 16 and older.
