David Lewis’ examines the elusive nature of happiness in his latest play, How To Be Happy.

Paul used to be a happiness guru. He wrote self-help books and appeared on television as Mr Happy. If anyone knows the key to happiness it must be him? Yet his marriage has failed and his career as a serious novel is going nowhere. Not to mention the fact his ex-wife has remarried a wealthy advertising executive.

On top of it all he’s concerned about the state of his health, the size of his mortgage and the monthly payments on his iPhone. All in all Mr Happy is far from happy. Still, if anyone can unlock the secret of happiness it must be him?
