The unique and much-loved Isango Ensemble from Cape Town open the Globe’s Globe To Globe season with a carnival interpretation of Shakespeare’s great narrative poem, Venus & Adonis.

Isango have already enchanted audiences in the West End with their reimagining of The Mysteries – Yiimimangaliso and The Magic Flute – Impempe Yomlingo. They will bring the same modern African sensibility, brimming over with song and dance, to Shakespeare’s great story of seduction and loss of innocence.

Globe To Globe sees every one of Shakespeare’s 37 plays performed in a different language by an international company. The result is a once in a life time, six week celebration of the incredible breadth of communities and languages that make up London’s vibrant cultural landscape.
