Donizetti’s comic opera featuring a baby raised by an entire regiment.

Marie is found on a battlefield and taken in by a regiment. When she falls in love with Tonio, a host of military fathers have to sanction the marriage. The plot takes dramatic twists and the music provides a showcase for vocal virtuosity on the way to the opera’s conclusion.
