Eurydice loves Orpheus. Her dead father’s letters of advice for her wedding aren’t reaching the land of the living. She crashes down a flight of stairs and wakes in the underworld, her memory wiped. How will she ever get home…?

Alice In Wonderland meets Greek mythology; Eurydice is a playful and heart-breaking take on a timeless tale of grief and redemption.

Eurydice playwright Sarah Ruhl’s other pieces include The Clean House
(Pulitzer Prize finalist 2005, Susan Smith Blackburn Prize 2004), Passion Play, a cycle (Pen American Award, Fourth Freedom Forum Playwriting Award from The Kennedy Center) and Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play).

Director Bijan Sheibani returns to the Young Vic, where he previously directed The Brothers Size, to direct Eurydice.

This production of Eurydice is a European premiere.
