Dusa, Fish, Stas And Vi was first produced at Hampstead theatre in 1976. Directed by Nancy Meckler, the production transferred to the Mayfair Theatre. It is now revived in this rehearsed reading as part of the theatre’s 50th anniversary season.

Set in an unpretentious London flat in the 70s, Dusa, Fish, Stas And Vi sees four young women come together. Each one is separated from their lover or husband. Through a series of inventive and revealing scenes, sometimes funny and sometimes deeply moving, the four endeavour to help each other to find new meaning in their lives.

As in her other plays, Dusa, Fish, Stas And Vi playwright Pam Gems creates brilliant roles for the four women and pushes issues of race, gender, sexuality and class into mainstream theatre.
