First Performance 20/06/2012
Closing 30/06/2012

As part of the Cultural Olympiad’s London 2012 Festival the Hampstead theatre presents a major retrospective of the work of one of Ireland’s most respected dramatists Tom Murphy.

The season comprises a trilogy of plays that tell an epic tale of Irish emigration from 1846 to 1980. Crossing oceans and spanning decades this sweeping trilogy, with a company of 17 actors, promises to be one of the most important productions of Murphy’s work to date.

Set in the 1970s Conversations On A Homecoming follows Michael as he returns to Galway after a decade in New York, as he meets up with old friends and discovers that even the humblest of small-town pubs can be a magnet for dreamers.

Famine and A Whistle In The Dark are perfromed in rep alongside Conversations On A Homecoming and special ‘cycle’ tickets for all three can be purchased.
