The master of psychological illusion returns to the West End with his Olivier Award-winning show Derren Brown: Svengali.

Svengali, which literally means a person with dark intents who attempts to manipulate someone, originally played at the Shaftesbury theatre last June but now comes to the Novello theatre for another 27 performances.

Although Derren Brown keeps the contents of his shows a tightly guarded secret, Svengali promises a fun and freaky evening of mind-melting based around audience participation.

Brown has been baffling audiences with his awe-inspiring psychological tricks and inexplicable mind control since he first came into the public eye in 2000 with his television show Derren Brown: Mind Control. From predicting the lottery numbers to subconsciously persuading a group of people to perform a bank heist, Brown’s television programmes have attracted acclaim, debate and controversy in equal measures.

Brown’s other stage shows include Something Wicked This Way Comes, Mind Reader – An Evening Of Wonders and 2009’s Derren Brown: Enigma.

Derren Brown: Svengali is written by Brown and long-term collaborators Iain Sharkey and Stephen Long, and directed by Polly Findlay (Twisted Tales at the Lyric Hammersmith).

This show is suitable for children aged 12 and over.
