Set in deepest Transylvania, Countess Maritza is a comic story of jealousy and confusion. Identities are mistaken and fiction and reality collide as Maritza and Tassilo, the central couple, try desperately to discover their true emotions amid the complex game-playing of romance.

Emmerich Kálmán’s sparkling score combines the passion and glamour of Hungarian folk music with the romance and lilt of the Viennese waltz to create a truly memorable show. Highlights include the alluring song Play Gipsy as well as the haunting sounds of the czardas.

Beautifully staged with sumptuous costumes and sets featuring the full company and orchestra of over 100 performers from the Budapest Operetta Theatre.
