Calixto Bieito’s acclaimed production of this classic opera tells a passionate tale of lust, seduction and betrayal set during the dying days of Franco’s Spain.

The production features Georges Bizet’s dazzling score, which evokes all the sounds and sizzling atmosphere of Spain through its famous melodies, from Carmen’s seductive Habanera to the Toreadors’ stirring parade.

The cast is led by mezzo-soprano Justina Gringyte alongside internationally acclaimed tenor Eric Cutler, Eleanor Dennis and Leigh Melrose. Richard Armstrong returns to the London Coliseum to conduct the production.

Carmen is sung and surtitled in English.
