War poetry as it has never been heard before, Dean Johnson’s acclaimed rock interpretation of Wilfred Owen’s war poetry is a revolutionary musical that has thrilled and divided audiences. Directed by and featuring Christopher Timothy (All Creatures Great and Small), with musical direction by Graeme Clark (Wet Wet Wet) and a cast including James Michael (X Factor).

Following last years sell out West End preview much loved actor Christopher Timothy (All Creatures Great And Small) returns to direct and feature as Wilfred’s mentor Siegfried Sassoon. Their close and often misunderstood relationship is examined as well as their condemnation of the Great War. Owen’s story is told through the eyes of his obsessive mother Susan (Chloe Torpey).

Musical director Graeme Clark (Wet Wet Wet) conducts a score featuring Owen’s best known works such as Dulce et Decorum est , Anthem for Doomed Youth and Futility and an exclusive contribution from David Gilmour (Pink Floyd). Both singles released from the production’s soundtrack so far have received airplay by Elaine Paige on Radio 2. Bullets And Daffodils was also the subject of a recent BBC TV documentary Inside Out.

Script adaptation is by Gavin Martin (music critic for The Daily Mirror), with additional material by TV’s David Quantick who has described the project as ”a remarkable production which finds new ways to tell the old old story, with two additional jokes by me”.
