Cathy Marston’s new full-length ballet, inspired by the literary masterpiece Wuthering Heights, comes to the Linbury Studio for its first performances in the UK, by Switzerland’s Bern:Ballett.

Full of the moorland atmosphere that so inspired Emily Brontë to write her Romantic novel, the ballet explores the tempestuous affair of Cathy and Heathcliff, whose magnetic relationship continues beyond death and whose love transcends time.

Choreographer Marston is an established creative favourite of the ROH2 seasons as a former Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House. Her work at the Royal Opera House has included such one-act ballets as Asyla, Echo and Narcissus. Now Director of Bern:Ballett, she has again drawn on the skill of Dave Maric for a specially commissioned score, which is performed live by Maric and the Swiss double-bass player Mich Gerber
