Blanche McIntyre directs Emlyn Williams’ tale of sex, scandal and blackmail at the St James Theatre as part of the One Stage season.

Accolade sees private and public worlds collide when author Will Trenting’s knighthood attracts the glare of the British press. Will is forced to battle against the exposure of his secret life and the double standards of a society bent on destroying him.

McIntyre first directed Williams’ play at the Finborough Theatre in 2011, earning her the title of Best Newcomer at the Critics’ Circle Awards.

Accolade plays as part of the One Stage season, an initiative from Stage One, the theatrical charity that is committed to supporting producers for the commercial theatre industry.
