Lucian Msamati and Sharon D Clarke lead the world premiere of this modern take on Molière’s Tartuffe.

Set in a world of millionaires and mega-churches, Marcus Gardley’s A Wolf In Snakeskin Shoes follows the story of multi-millionaire Archibald Organdy. With just days to live, he rejects costly experimental treatment and opts to face his end surrounded by his family.

Then flamboyant Archbishop Tardimus Toof, a prophet, preacher and part-time masseur, arrives in Atlanta from the deep, deep South, promising to absolve Archibald’s sins and heal his disease. But his family suspect there’s more to this devout healer than faith, virtue and snakeskin shoes…

Msamati takes on the role of the dubious preacher alongside Clarke as his on-stage wife Lady Toof. The performers reunite following their performances in the National Theatre’s critically acclaimed production of The Amen Corner.
