Celebrated American company Big Dance Theater fuse music, dance, video and spoken word in 17c to tell the story of the famed 17th century philanderer, Samuel Pepys.

Samuel Pepys wants to tell us everything – and in 17c, he is committed to self-improvement, serial adultery, and a desperation to be at the cutting edge. A reverb-soaked romp through his diaries, centring on him and his tragic wife Bess, 17c sees American Dance Theater make their long-awaited UK debut at The Old Vic.

A multimedia dance theatre production of epic proportions, the show is conceived and directed by New York choreographer Annie-B Parson, the mind behind recent smash-hits Here Lies Love and Lazarus.

The show is an Old Vic and Dance Umbrella production, choreographed by Parson and the company, and co-directed by Paul Lazar. 17c is recommended for ages 11+.
