Young Vic announce casting for Blood Wedding

The Young Vic have an exciting season of shows ahead, from house music operas and retelling of classic tales, to brand new productions from new writers.

Part of this season is Blood Wedding, which stars Gavin Drea, Aoife Duffin, Olwen Fouéré and Steffan Rhodri, and will be directed by award-winning director Yaël Farber (Les Blancs, Mies Julie, The Crucible).

It has now been announced that joining the show, and making up the full cast will be, Bríd Brennan, Scarlett Brookes, Annie Firbank, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Faaiz Mbelizi, Thalissa Teixeira and David Walmsley.

This famous tragedy will be given a modern spin by Marina Carr. Blood Wedding tells the tale of a repressed, passionate love affair that rears its head on the day two young people tie the knot. What is done cannot be undone.

Part of an exciting season of shows being put on by the Young Vic in 2019/2020, general sale for their other productions including, Cush Jumbo in Hamlet, Ruth Negga in Portia Coughlan, Nora: A Doll’s House and Orfeus: A House Music Opera is now open.

Blood Wedding will run at the Young Vic between 19 September – 2 November.
