Tell Me On A Sunday

Webb takes Sunday to Duchess

Published 6 January 2014

Marti Webb will reprise her role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-loved one-woman show Tell Me On A Sunday next month when the production transfers to the Duchess Theatre following its short run at the St James Theatre.

The tale of an English girl’s life in New York, which features lyrics by Lloyd Webber’s long-time collaborator Don Black, will play at the St James Theatre from 7 to 12 January before taking its tale to the West End from 18 February to 1 March.

Webb, who originated the role in the West End in 1982, received critical acclaim for her performance as the musical’s optimistic female, who sets out to find success, companionship and love in the Big Apple. The actress, whose other credits include Oliver!, Godspell, Evita and Cats, returned to the role in 2003 for a national tour and also had her biggest hit single with the show’s track Take That Look Off Your Face.

Featuring songs that also include It’s Not The End Of The World (If I Lose Him) and the title number, Tell Me On A Sunday, the transfer production will be supported by a preview of songs from upcoming musicals including Jamie Lloyd’s hugely anticipated production of Urinetown as well as excerpts from current West End hit Once.
