There is an extra special way for all football fans to celebrate the FA Cup Final at the Unicorn theatre this Saturday 19 May. The theatre is holding a matinee performance of its new show Billy The Kid at 13:00, followed by a live screening of the FA Cup Final on the theatre’s big screen.

Based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, Billy The Kid tells the tale of Billy, who always dreamed of playing football for Chelsea. His dream came true when he was signed by the club and rose from the reserves to become a champion striker for the first team. But that was in 1939. Then the Second World War changed everything. From footballing hero to front-line soldier, Billy was lucky to escape alive, but injured. Unable to play football again, Billy sinks lower and lower until some friends help to give him one last chance. Will Billy the Kid ever see his beloved Chelsea again? And will they remember him?

This stage adaptation of Morpurgo’s heart warming tale is suitable for anyone aged eight and over.

Tickets for Saturday’s special matinee performance and screening of the Chelsea vs Manchester United clash cost £10 and are available from the Unicorn box office on 020 7645 0560. There will even be the chance to win prizes, including an FA Cup of your very own.
