Watch Showstopper! The (Socially Distanced) Improvised Musical online next week

First Published 13 July 2020, Last Updated 14 July 2020

Olivier Award-winning West End musical, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical has announced that they will be live-streaming a world-premiere of their first socially distanced and full improvised musical on 21 July.

With 12-sell out years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, two West End runs and an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family Show, Showstoppers! The Improvised Musical has been a huge success since it started in 2008.

If you’ve ever dreamed of creating your own musical, this is exactly what this show allows audiences to do! Unlike any show you’ve ever seen before, Showstopper! allows you to help create the show by shouting out the setting, musical styles and even the title of the show! This also means you get to experience a brand new, fully improvised musical each time!

During the lockdown, the Showstoppers came together to explore ways they could improvise a musical whilst still maintaining social distancing. The result? A live-streamed world premiere of a socially distanced and fully improvised musical based entirely on your suggestions!

Using state-of-the-art technology and rigorous social distancing, the company will take live suggestions from the audience watching at home to create a rip-roaring musical complete with hilarious characters, fabulous dance routines, beautiful songs and epic storylines, topped with a sprinkling of pizzaz of a Broadway show.

So whether you fancy Hamilton on Hampstead Heath or some Sondheim set in a castle, you say it and – as always – The Showstoppers will make it happen!

This exciting venture has been developed in association with The Showstoppers’ corporate training collaborators, PCA and will be available to live-stream at 7:30pm BST on Tuesday 21 July.
