Video: Olivier winners’ reactions

First Published 4 April 2016, Last Updated 7 April 2016

Tears, laughter, hysteria and shock. We witnessed every reaction possible last night as the first press team to grab the winners for a quick chat just seconds after they’d made their acceptance speeches and stepped off the Royal Opera House stage.

From People, Places And Things’ Denise Gough’s hilarious disbelief at finding herself holding a Larry to The Father’s Kenneth Cranham’s moving humility, it was an incredible evening of prize-giving and a theatre journalist’s dream event with the chance to interview everyone from the great Judi Dench to star of the future choreographer Drew McOnie.

Take a look at our video below to hear from a selection of the winners and click through the gallery to see them showing off their brand new bronze statuettes with pride.
